Crimping your FLF hose end fittings to the correct diameter is incredibly important to ensure maximum performance and longevity of your hose assembly. Crimping too loose can result in the hose popping off the hose end, resulting in a possible fire hazard. Crimping too tight can damage the hose end, again resulting in a possible fire hazard. Crimping too tight can also possibly crush or damage the shank portion of the hose end inside the hose, restricting flow and limiting performance.
Crimping should always be done with a caliper to confirm that the hose end was crimped properly. Over-crimped hose ends should be cut off and discarded.
